Comparison

Compare AquaTop TQ-100W, TQ-200W and TQ-250W preset heaters

The AquaTop Thermo-Quartz preset family currently shows three distinct wattages in its captured US collection: TQ-100W, TQ-200W and a 250 W card whose title repeats the TQ-200W suffix. Exact product pages, the support-manual list and model-labelled package images separate that final entry as TQ-250W. The shared model feature is a fixed 78°F preset—not an adjustable dial—and each configuration has its own capacity ceiling and package range.

The 250 W code mismatch is resolved at SKU level

The AquaTop family card and its linked retail title repeat “TQ-200W” after describing the 250 W configuration. That repeated suffix does not match the exact product evidence: AquaTop's 250 W model page gives SKU TQ-250W; the support article lists TQ-250W within the manual scope; and the linked seller page's Product_Code/SKU and package/heater photo show TQ-250W and 250 W. Treat the 250 W row as its own heater. Before buying, compare the exact product code and package label rather than searching on the card's repeated suffix alone. Read the separate TQ-250W review and TQ-200W review for that identity bridge.

All three are fixed at 78°F

The exact pages and package fronts show 78°F preset behavior for each size. None of the reviewed TQ records establishes an adjustable temperature interval. Product-page language about electronic control and precision does not provide a numeric accuracy tolerance, and no independent measurement was made. AquaTop's one-page TQ instruction image directs the user to verify actual water with a separate accurate thermometer at the opposite end of the aquarium; it notes that a small variation from the preset is normal. Confirm separately that 78°F suits the animals in the tank.

The exact US product pages state 110–120 V / 60 Hz and describe freshwater/saltwater use and a fully submersible design. The shared instruction page says to attach the heater with suction cups, prevent direct contact with glass or gravel, form a drip loop and use GFCI protection. It does not establish a body dimension, minimum waterline, quantified thermostat tolerance, exact shatterproof status or an external-filter arrangement. Check the exact supplied unit and current instructions; do not borrow size or setup details from another AquaTop line.

Why these exact TQ models are references rather than live matches

The package image provides useful lower-to-upper gallon bands—15–30 for TQ-100W, 55–75 for TQ-200W and 75–85 for TQ-250W—while the exact product pages separately state maximum capacities of 30, 75 and 85 gallons. The source does not call the package lower edge a minimum safe volume, so it is retained as package sizing context rather than rewritten as a hard safety guarantee. But the current finder only compares selected volume with an upper maximum. It cannot conditionally honor the different lower edges: treating a match as a recommendation below the printed package band would overstate fit. The three models therefore remain individually reviewed, image-verified reference entries, excluded from every active candidate result until the public matcher can represent these lower boundaries without treating unknown minimums on other heaters as facts.

A fixed preset and a 20-gallon freshwater setup

Decision: At 20 US gallons, freshwater, in-tank, preset and 78°F, the active finder returns no heater: the AquaTop TQ pages' package ranges start at 15, 55 and 75 gallons, but the current volume rule cannot conditionally enforce those lower edges, so all three exact TQ models remain research references rather than live matches.

The TQ-100W carton band includes 20 gallons, but making it a live match only at volumes at or above 15 gallons is not expressible with the current one-sided matcher rule. The other two package ranges begin above this scenario. The zero result therefore describes the active reviewed subset under its current conservative matching limits; it does not establish that no suitable heater exists outside this library. Open the finder with these exact water, volume, installation, preset and setpoint answers. The separate temperature-control guide compares active preset matches with these TQ model references.

The 15-gallon package edge and the active preset boundary

Decision: At 15 US gallons, freshwater, in-tank, preset and 78°F, Fluval P50 is the only active match; TQ-100W's 15–30-gallon package band includes this volume, but it remains reference-only because the max-only rule cannot enforce that package's lower edge.

The 15-gallon scenario distinguishes a package band from a live matcher rule: the TQ-100W carton includes 15 gallons, but the active library returns the documented Fluval P50 only. The other exact TQ packages begin at 55 and 75 gallons; none of the TQs is added to the active result. Open the finder with those exact five answers.

Decision: At 16 US gallons, the same freshwater, in-tank, preset and 78°F answers return no active match: Fluval P50's 15-gallon ceiling has passed, and the three TQ models remain references because the current matcher cannot enforce their distinct package-band lower edges.

This empty result describes the active reviewed library, not every heater available. The package images show the TQ-100W band continuing through 30 gallons and separate upper limits of 75 and 85 gallons for TQ-200W and TQ-250W, but no TQ model can safely be returned only when a volume lies inside its lower-to-upper band using the current max-only volume rule. Open the finder with the same four non-volume answers and 16 gallons; compare the TQ-100W, TQ-200W and TQ-250W reference reviews.

Primary-source checks and remaining limitations

Read each AquaTop TQ-100W, TQ-200W and TQ-250W exact page against the unit you receive, and consult the manufacturer's TQ instructions. None of the reviewed pages or one-page manual confirms dimensions, shatterproof construction, an accuracy range or a product-specific minimum safe volume. The package ranges are genuine visible evidence, not proof of performance. This guide is a source-led comparison, not a report of in-home ownership or tests.
